THE EDITOR: The last time I checked, on any given day the average daily temperature in TT is around 90 degrees Fahrenheit/32.2 degrees Celsius. Why then are my fellow Trinis indulging themselves in this new-found trend of wearing those very thick calf-high multicoloured socks?
I have even seen women wearing those socks with their high-heel shoes. School children are wearing them. Even your everyday city loiterers and street vendors are donning them.
Are Trinis watching too much American TV? I have never even entertained the thought of wearing sandals in the snow.
