Learn from Trinidad and Tobago women cricketers, men - Trinidad and Tobago Newsday

THE EDITOR: Hooray to the TT Red Force women in their conquest of the CG United Women's Super50 competition on March 7 at Warner Park in St Kitts.

Certainly, this has been a well-deserved victory for the TT women who had to bounce back from a loss to the Jamaica Scorpions in their first match in the competition.

That was a devastating sting that took resilience and hard work to come back from, but the divas proved their mettle and did just that. The win earlier in the competition against the previously unbeaten Barbados team in St Kitts, where TT won by five wickets, meant that the writing was on the wall.

The spin trio of teenager Samara Ramnath, captain Karishma Ramharack and experienced Anisa Mohammed proved to be impenetrable for the other teams, more fatal than the Scorpion's sting.

This unrelenting spin attack was backed up by dependable batting from Britney Cooper and Djenaba Joseph, to name two. It was an indomitable team put together by the TT selectors. Hats off to them.

Ramharack deserves special mention as she showed resilience and courage in the way she held the team together and forged ahead for the rest of the competition after the initial loss. She showed that she is made of strong mettle and has a never-say-die attitude, which is much needed in the men's white ball team and, indeed, the West Indies red ball team.

Take note and learn from our divas, boys. We're proud of our women's team.
