In the world of professional athletics, there has been a changing of the guard occurring in the sport of professional tennis within its women’s division.

Not only did Williams earn a daunting-sized trail of accolades (including 23 Grand Slam titles), she was financially head and shoulders above women in professional tennis, as well as all the other sports.

According to Forbes, Osaka beat out Williams again but this time, it was not on the tennis court.

Forbes also reported that Osaka’s astronomical 2019 salary was the most money a woman has ever made in the history of sports.

Osaka’s earnings financially dethroned Williams and made the 20-something champion today’s highest-paid paid woman of all in every professional sport.
