Twitter is blasting critics who have attacked four-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles for her withdrawal from the women’s team final at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic s on Tuesday. Piers Morgan wrote a column for the Daily Mail published on Wednesday and said that the gymnast should not be hailed a hero or be void of criticism after she walked away from the team event. “But rather than dust herself down and battle on for Gold, as she did in 2018, she did something which absolutely staggered me. She quit,” Morgan said. “Well sorry if it offends all the howling Twitter snowflake virtue-signallers, but I don't think it's remotely courageous, heroic or inspiring to quit,” he continued. The broadcaster called the gymnast selfish and stated that regardless of her performance, she should’ve given her all so that she and her teammates could reign victorious. Biles fans responded and said Morgan was being insensitive to the gymnast, the New York Post reported .
