'We can now sleep' - Hardcore serial rapist arrested in Nigeria

A serial rapist has been arrested in Kano State, Nigeria by the police for allegedly raping 40 people in a space of one year in a town.

The police have revealed after their investigations that his attacks on innocent women included children as young as 10 years old and an 80-year-old woman.

This is because repercussions of people victimising the victims and their families, the fear of being called liars, police extortion and lack of trust in the country’s judicial system and processes are the many reasons why victims never speak up.

In addition, Nigerians took to Twitter and other social media platforms to demand justice for the murder of Uwavera Omozuwa, a 22-year-old student of the University of Benin.

A woman from the Redeemed Christian Church of God called the family to inform them of the attack.
