Zimbabwean student Ignatius Mabasa has been awarded a Ph.D. for the first-ever thesis written in ChiShona at Rhodes University, South Africa. Mabasa, who is a well-known writer, musician and storyteller, is a Ph.D. student in the African Language Studies Section in the School of Languages and Literatures.
