These leaders prophesy and declare victory in elections and wise Mnangagwa is likely to believe them over the voters who do the voting and choosing.
It is sad that a government which can seek God through a national day of prayer pushes its citizens to the edge and has a laissez-faire attitude towards corruption and incompetence within its rank and file.
We cannot be led onto the altar of prayer by a leader whose minister of Finance punishes citizens for being creative with the monetary system in a country where the minister has failed.

to debunk “coup rumours”, on Wednesday, has exposed fissures and mistrust in President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government, political observers have said.

Benin and Ivory Coast become the third and fourth countries to withdraw their declaration under Article 34 of the Protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights on the Establishment of the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights (AfCHPR).
Benin announced an end to individual and NGO direct access to the court on March 16, while Ivory Coast did the same on April 21.
The decision by Benin and Ivory Coast was officially announced early this month by the Court's Registrar, Robert Eno.
Benin and Ivory Coast's withdrawal will likely mean that only six AU countries will allow individuals and NGOs to have direct access to the Court a year from now.
Ivory Coast 's withdrawal came directly after an April 22 judgment on provisional measures in which the Court ordered a national court to suspend the arrest warrant of Guillaume Soro, a former rebel leader running for president.
He named former Zanu PF national commissar Saviour Kasukuwere, top government and security officials, and MDC Alliance vice-chairman Job Sikhala, among others, as those involved in the alleged plot to oust Mnangagwa.
“Government would, therefore, like, through the agents of the working committee on National Security Council as convened in terms of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, to unequivocally debunk and dismiss these rumours with the contempt they deserve,” Kazembe said.
“The purveyors of this false coup narrative claim that former members of Zanu PF, who fell by the wayside and largely went into self-imposed exile at the advent of the new dispensation in 2017, are coming together in a united front with some named senior government leaders or members of the security forces of Zimbabwe and elements of the opposition formation,” Kazembe said.
Kazembe said: “They (alleged purveyors) further claim that once the contrived coup is executed, they intend to establish a national transitional authority which will then govern Zimbabwe minus Zanu PF for an unspecified period.”
“Indeed, the rumours of an imminent military coup alongside the incidents of fake abductions, torture and enforced disappearance and claims of a government of national unity or a national transitional authority all form an integral part of this kind of warfare,” Kazembe said.
Sporadic gunshots were heard in Lagos on Friday as security forces patrolled Nigeria's biggest city after days of unrest following the shooting of protesters that sparked condemnation at home and abroad.

Nigeria, where many live in extreme poverty and where the median age is 18, is a tinderbox of economic and social grievances.

Protests against police abuse erupted on October 8 after a video of an officer allegedly killing a civilian went viral.

- 'Rushing to judgement' -
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called for an immediate investigation into violence by security forces, which has also triggered condemnation by the United Nations, the African Union, the European Union and others.
Nigeria's president shrugged off the international concern.
\"We thank you and urge you all to seek to know all the facts available before taking a position or rushing to judgement and making hasty pronouncements,\" Buhari said.
The spreading of \"deliberate falsehood and misinformation, in particular through social media\" was, he said, \"a ploy to mislead the unwary within and outside Nigeria into unfair judgement and disruptive behaviour.\"
After the president's speech, a key protest group told its followers to \"stay home\" but many made it clear that the movement would continue.
\"The past two weeks have been tough for many Nigerians, most specifically the last two days,\" the Feminist Coalition said in a statement.

A Deputy Minister of Health (MoH), Dr Bernard Oko-Boye has stated that the country's success in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic is no fluke.
\"The achievement of Ghana is not just by an accident but about the effective measures that the government has put in place in aggressively tracing, testing and treating people with the virus,\" DrOko-Boye stated.
Dr Oko-Boye explained that since the outbreak, efforts at getting medical supplies for frontline staff had solely been on the government and expressed happiness for the embassy's support to MoH.
DrOko-Boye maintained that all the necessary measures had been put in place to control the spread of the virus in the country, stressing that government has established COVID-19 structures at the national, regional and district level.

Maputo — Mozambique Airlines (LAM) has once again postponed the resumption of direct flights between Maputo and Lisbon.
The flights were to have resumed this month, but LAM has dropped that idea, and has not risked announcing any new date.
LAM admits that everything depends on decisions taken by individual countries on reopening their airspace to commercial flights.
\"As soon as the conditions have been communicated to us and we are aware of the response of the market, LAM will resume its project for flights between Maputo and Lisbon, and will inform the market promptly\", said the release.
LAM said it is aware of the \"importance and urgency\" of re-establishing the Maputo-Lisbon route.
