It is not clear what really led to the accident as a portion of the rail got disassembled under the weight of the locomotive.

There were 66 wagons carrying iron ore from the Tokadeh to Buchanan.

About 38 wagons were detached from the locomotive during accident.

This is the first time in almost four years, since another locomotive derailed between Nimba and Bong, leaving ore scattered all over the scene of the accident.

As was with the previous accident, this one recorded no casualty, except that some of the wagons disconnected from the locomotive and dumping the iron ore on board the wagons.

For the protests that followed the shooting of Michael Brown, see Ferguson unrest.

The shooting of Michael Brown occurred on August 9, 2014, in Ferguson, Missouri, a northern suburb of St. Louis. Brown, an 18-year-old black man, was fatally shot by Darren Wilson, 28, a white Ferguson police officer, after Brown reportedly robbed a convenience store.[2] An altercation ensued with Brown and Wilson struggling through the window of the police vehicle for control of Wilsons gun until it was fired.[3] Brown and Dorian Johnson then fled, with Wilson in pursuit of Brown. In the entire altercation, Wilson fired a total of twelve bullets;[4] the last was probably the fatal shot.[5] [6] [7]

The shooting sparked unrest in Ferguson. The hands up account was widely circulated within the black community immediately after the shooting and it contributed to the strong protests and outrage about the killing of the unarmed man. The U.S. Department of Justice concluded the hands up account was inaccurate months later.[8] Believing accounts that Brown had his hands up in surrender when he was shot, protesters chanted, Hands up, dont shoot. Protests, both peaceful and violent, along with vandalism and looting, continued for more than a week in Ferguson; police established a nightly curfew. The response of area police agencies in dealing with the protests was strongly criticized by the media and politicians. There were concerns over insensitivity, tactics, and a militarized response. Missouri Governor Jay Nixon ordered local police organizations to cede much of their authority to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

A grand jury was called and given extensive evidence from Robert McCulloch, the St. Louis County Prosecutor. On November 24, 2014, McCulloch announced the St. Louis County grand jury had decided not to indict Wilson.[9] On March 4, 2015, the U.S. Department of Justice reported the conclusion of its own investigation and cleared Wilson of civil rights violations in the shooting. It found forensic evidence supported

Cops said they later got another call saying the teens were now in the parking lot, playing with a gun and fighting.

“Due to the allegation that the juveniles were in possession of a gun, the officer approached them with his duty weapon drawn and pointed at the juveniles,” the police said.

When the officer went back to the store where the 911 call was placed and looked over the surveillance video, it showed the teens were playing and tossing what looked like a gun to each other.

The police report said the cop talked to the kids about the dangers of playing with a weapon, then their parents were called and the teens were released from the scene with no charges filed.

“Why are only people of color, young black boys, young black girls being gunned down at the hands of policemen and suing excuses like BB guns, water guns,” he continued.

A minister on his way to his car after Bible Study saw the woman lying on the ground, side-eyed her, could hear her moaning and was relieved she was not dead.

They also saw the elderly woman lying on the ground, and without saying a word to one another, crossed to the other side of the street to avoid walking directly past the woman.

The man left his name and number with the family members and told them he would take care of the woman’s hospital bill over and above what Medicare Part A & B and any other supplemental insurance doesn’t pay.

In the parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus asked the young man, who was more neighborly?

We need people like the Good Samaritan in today’s parable who will show love and concern for others, even the stranger, not just in words, but also in action.

A digital billboard in Times Square showing the number of deaths related to President Donald Trump’s slow coronavirus response, reached a grave milestone on Wednesday, as it ticked over to an estimated 50,000 preventable deaths.

The Death Clock measures “the cost in human lives of President Trump and his team’s reckless handling of the coronavirus pandemic,” Jarecki told Yahoo.

As U.S. coronavirus deaths reached 85,00 Wednesday, the death clock showed more than 57,000 deaths could’ve been prevented.

“Just as the names of fallen soldiers are etched on memorials to remind us of the cost of war, quantifying the lives lost to the president’s delayed coronavirus response would serve a vital public function,” he added.

In addition to almost 100,000 deaths, the coronavirus pandemic has killed ten years of job growth in one month and put many minorities and low-income Americans at risk of losing their lives.

The two white men who shot Ahmaud Arbery did so operating on their basest, racist stereotypes of black men — the idea that black men are inherently dangerous and criminal.

If there had been, in the eyes of the white men who called 911, Ahmaud’s only crime was that he was a black man roaming through a neighborhood not considered his own.

Arbery is seen on video walking around a construction site, as others, black and non black, had done.

Ahmaud Arbery had been so dehumanized by the two white men who followed and killed him, that they likely could not distinguish one black man jogging through their neighborhood from the next.

Combine that with the kind of dehumanization that also took place on that Brunswick street — the literal stripping of Arbery’s humanness — and you get two white men jumping in a pickup truck out on a mission to hunt down a black man as if they were hunting deer.
