Health minister Zweli Mkhize
Health minister Zweli Mkhize has blamed an outdated slide in a presentation on Wednesday for creating fear that some parts of South Africa would remain on level-4 lockdown on 1 June.
Mkhize said government has “taken measures to identify areas that have been defined as epidemiological hotspots.
Government, he said, has taken steps to intervene in areas that are regarded as hotspots by deploying experts and specialists who will implement measures to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Even as the whole country moves to level 3, government will ensure there is “constant assessment of each and every area and its rate of infection”.
“If the spread of the infection is not contained despite the above-mentioned interventions, government will make a determination on whether to return that specific area (metro, district, sub-district or ward) to alert level 4 or 5”.

And yet, despite the mainstream claims that homosexuality is a recent enigma, Shoga Films’ documentary, Queer Harlem Renaissance: A Prospectus, is fighting to re-establish the history of Black Queerness and its struggle against the Black Elite’s steady social concessions for the White mainstream.
KS: There’s something to be said for making “real” the previously buried, marginalized, and silenced histories of queer Harlem Renaissance artists.
To see the history of queer black artists in film, colorized, complete with music, style, and dance is help individuals get an immediate sense of the importance of queer subjects within history.
CL: Was there something about the Queer Harlem Renaissance that you felt similarly explores the nature of your past conversations Shoga Film’s has explored in queer, Black America?
Queer Harlem Renaissance artists were engaged in many conversations, not just about sex and sexuality, but also intersectionality, passing, code-switching, multi-racial subjectivity and families, class bias, colorism–all the concepts that people of color and queer folk have been discussing and engaging in.
To rightly remember and honor Larry Aubry is to recognize, appreciate and strive to emulate the long length and value-grounded variousness of his service for the Good, the depth of love for his people, and his uncompromising commitment to them and their struggle for liberation and racial and social justice.
And he became one of the early founders with us of the Black Community, Clergy and Labor Alliance (BCCLA), a Black united front engaged in the advancement of the interests of Black workers and the well-being of the Black community as a whole, and we served as co-chairs until his passing.
Writing from the life he lived, the work he did and the struggle he waged as an all-seasons soldier, Larry, reporting from the frontlines writes, “I wrote a lot on education because I do much of my work in this area and think it is critical to the development and success of our young people and the community as a whole.”
A long-time union activist, Larry wrote on labor issues and worked within and with unions and community organizations to achieve employment and economic justice, equity and empowerment initiatives for Black workers and the Black community.
In addition, he served as vice-president of the A. Phillip Randolph Institute, member of the founding committee of the Los Angeles Black Workers Center, and again is a founding member of BCCLA, dedicated to the economic and related life issues of the Black community.

With millions of kids nowhere near going back to school and the economy reeling from a 32.9% annualized contraction in the second quarter, the months ahead are stretching into what looks like an endless crisis as Trump tweets \"Make America Great Again\" and spends his weekends on the golf course.
Top administration officials in recent days have repeatedly delivered information and warnings that directly contradict Trump's upbeat messaging on Friday on the virus: \"We'll get rid of it, we'll beat it, and it will be soon.\"

Amid this grim outlook, the administration and Capitol Hill Democrats are deadlocked on a plan to extend federal unemployment payments to millions of Americans who lost their jobs in lockdowns.
Dr. Deborah Birx delivered a series of stunning warnings on CNN's \"State of the Union\" five months into a pandemic that the President once said posed no threat to Americans but has now killed more than 150,000 of them.
\"What we are seeing today is different from March and April. It is extraordinarily widespread. It's into the rural as equal urban areas,\" Birx, the White House coronavirus task force coordinator, told CNN's Dana Bash.
Birx even suggested that some Americans in multi-generational families should start wearing masks in their home and assume that they already have the disease. She did not reject a warning by former Federal Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb that there could be 300,000 coronavirus deaths by the end of the year, saying, \"Anything is possible.\"
\"To everybody who lives in a rural area, you are not immune or protected from this virus,\" Birx said. Her comments came after her colleague, Dr. Anthony Fauci, told a House committee on Friday it was \"unclear\" how long the crisis will last. But the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention told Americans to brace for an average of 1,000 deaths a day for the next 30 days.
And while there are some signs that infections have plateaued in sunbelt states in the last week, albeit at high levels, Birx's words suggest new epicenters are looming, a situation hardly consistent with Trump's description of \"embers\" of infection. The President speaks optimistically about a coming vaccination -- though experts say it could still be months away -- and boasts about advances in therapeutics and of building thousands of ventilators. But the horrible statistics of the pandemic are relentless with 1,000 Americans dying almost every day. And the administration response appears -- as it has from the start -- short of the scale needed to beat back the worst public health crisis in 100 years.
'Assume you are infected'
With a vaccine still lacking, Birx also warned that too many Americans were not taking the virus sufficiently seriously, in another jarring disconnect from the President's messaging.
\"Across America right now, people are on the move ... as I traveled around the country, I saw all of America moving. I think it's our job, as
