The Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies has found that people of color are significantly underrepresented in Senate staff positions, with African Americans representing only 5.9% of pathway staff and 2.1% of top staff, and Latinos representing 6.3% of pathway staff and 5.8% of top staff.
