Outrage is mounting over a viral video shot by onlooker Darnella Frazier showing a Minneapolis police officer with his knee on the neck of a Black man, identified as George Floyd, who later died.

Bystanders can be heard complaining to the officers, with one man stating, “You’re stopping his breathing right there, Bro.

The MPD released a statement saying: “Officers were advised that the suspect was sitting on top of a blue car and appeared to be under the influence.

Two officers arrived and located the suspect, a male believed to be in his 40s, in his car.

Activists and community members have scheduled an “I Can’t Breathe” protest today at 5 pm on 38th and Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis.
