The U.S. Virgin Islands will be holding a major earthquake preparedness drill at 10:21 a.m. Thursday. While the effort is part of a nationwide exercise called the Great ShakeOut, serious, sometimes deadly earthquakes do hit the area and someday a big one will inevitably strike here.
