'They've been told': School Board leader parts ways with colleagues, interest group

Breaking all the fine china, Carla Powell-Lewis, president of the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board, criticized colleagues for letting themselves be influenced by Baton Rouge Alliance for Students when they rejected effort to name Interim Supt. Adam Smith as permanent superintendent. Co-founder of The Alliance, Adonica Duggan, says Powell-Smith is "mischaracterizing" what's transpired.
