The Border Dehumanizes Haitian Immigrants Fleeing U.S. Driven Destabilization | Dallas Weekly

Border agents atop horseback, using whipcord to corral humans like cattle. Huddled masses clutching to their only belongings underneath overpasses and behind chainlink fences. These vivid and gut-wrenching images of hundreds of Haitian immigrants at the Texas-Mexico border — which evoke historical depictions of slave patrols on horseback whipping Black bodies — are a stark reminder of the ways in which our border systems dehumanize people who seek to escape brutal and chaotic conditions.
