Study Suggests Iguana is Not Quite ‘Indigenous,’ Not Quite ‘Invasive’

A genetic study suggests most of the iguanas on St. Thomas and St. Croix – as well as those on nearby Vieques – likely are descendants of iguanas that were introduced naturally in the pre-Columbian era.
