The Getty Research Institute (GRI) seeks a motivated and knowledgeable archivist to process the papers of art historian Robert Farris Thompson, one of the foremost scholars of the artistic and linguistic connections and continuities within the African Diaspora and Afro-Atlantic world. Comprising approximately 300 linear feet, the archive documents all phases of Thompson’s career and includes a diverse body of original resources and audiovisual material which he used for his research on topics such as Afro-Cuban and Sub-Saharan expressive cultures.
