Senator Laphonza Butler's Pledge to Support Black Publishers

Laphonza Butler, California's first openly LGBTQ and second Black Senator, met with members of the National News Publishers Association (NNPA) to express her commitment to the Black press and the communities she serves, and pledged to host representatives of Black publishers on Capitol Hill to discuss issues related to federal advertising and other ways Black publications can be engaged at the national level from a business perspective.
