According to a new report from the Government Accountability Office, Black and Hispanic renters face harsher financial hardship than their white counterparts in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Since January 2021, the U.S. Treasury Department has provided up to $25 billion in emergency rental assistance as part of the federal government’s eviction moratorium.
