Race riot, Elaine, Phillips County, Arkansas. Five whites and twenty-five to fifty Blacks reported killed. Seventy-six Blacks were reported lynched in 1919. Kansas City Call founded by Chester Arthur Franklin. Spingarn Medal presented to Archibald Grimke, President of the American Negro Academy and former U.S. consul to Santo Domingo.
