The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences which hands out the Oscars says it has made major progress in its efforts to increase diversity in the group. On Tuesday, the Academy announced it invited 819 new members to join, saying that fulfills its quest to double the number of women and minorities in its membership ranks. But April Reign, creator of the #OscarsSoWhite hashtag, says the Academys diversity claims dont add up.
