Two of teh most terrible outlaws of Kentucky were the Harpe Brothers;
"Big Harpe" and "Little harpe". Together with their three female companions,
they terrorizd an plundered whole counties in both Kentucky and Tennessee.
Both were finally killed. Big Harpe was killed in 1799 and his head stuck
on a pole. The town of Harpe's Head in Webster County, Kentucky, was named after him.
