(ThyBlackMan.com) It's a month for the letter 'P,' as in, 'The president is preparing to get pitched out of public housing and is proffering preemptive pardons to his progeny.' There’s a constant debate about whether Michael Jordan or LeBron James is the NBA’s greatest player of all tine, with younger basketball fans typically choosing James and older ones going with Jordan.
Charles Barkley, who played against Jordan and was his teammate on the 1992 USA Olympic basketball team, weighed in on the Jordan-James debate during an interview with podcast host Adam Lefkoe on the May 20 episode of “The Lefkoe Show” last week.
But Barkley added a third player to the debate, former Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant, who was the player most compared to Jordan before James became an NBA superstar
“I ain’t never going to say anything bad about LeBron James,” said Barkley.
Those who responded to Barkley’s comments agreed and said James’ fans shouldn’t be offended by the comparison to Johnson, a point guard on Lakers championship teams in the 1980s.
Barkley had Jordan at No. 1, Oscar Robertson second, then Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James coming in seventh.

Two Atlanta police officers who were fired after a widely publicized incident involving two college students are suing Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Police Chief Erika Shields for reinstatement of their jobs.
Streeter, Gardner and four other officers approached a car driven by 22-year-old Messiah Young to enforce the city’s 9 p.m. curfew.
“After review of that footage, Chief [Erika] Shields and I have made the determination that two of the officers involved in the incident last night will be terminated immediately,” Bottoms said in a news conference on May 31.
“The other four police officers who were involved in the incident were engaged in substantially similar conduct, which was also alleged to be improper, but have not been dismissed and are, by information and belief, either on paid leave or have been assigned to non-enforcement duties,” the suit states.
The papers argued Gardner and Streeter’s use of force was “was proper and in compliance” with Atlanta Police policy and state laws.

Connecticut (BNC)– ESPN’s Alex Scarborough confirmed Friday June 19 that NCAA officials passed a new policy that bans all of its championship events from being held in states that still fly the Confederate flag.
This could have direct impact on the South Eastern Conference (SEC) and South Western Athletic Conference (SWAC) , as both conferences have tenured schools from the state of Mississippi in their respective conference.
SEC commissioner Greg Sankey made a statement via Twitter in reaction to this new policy,:
“It is past time for change to be made to the flag of the State of Mississippi, Our students deserve an opportunity to learn and compete in environment that are inclusive and welcoming to all.
If Mississippi refuses to change their flag this time, they will consider banning championship events from the state until it is.”
Alcorn State University located in Lorman, Mississippi, has held that privilege of hosting the SWAC Championship game for the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
