The legislature of Georgia passed a hate crimes bill on Tuesday, and the proposed law will be moved to Governor Brian Kemp for approval.
In case the proposal is approved, Georgia will be among the many states with hate crimes legislation.
So far, only four states don’t have such a law, Georgia included.
The southern division for the Anti-Defamation League has been pushing for a hate crime law in Georgia for many years, and the vice president, Allison Padilla-Goodman, is happy that the state is taking such a bold step.
In case Georgia passes the bill, South Carolina Wyoming, and Arkansas will be the only states without a hate crime bill.
