Family, friends and football fans are mourning the loss of Jessie Lemonier, who died Thursday at 25. ESPN  reports that the former NFL linebacker played for the Los Angeles Chargers after being drafted by the team in 2020 and before joining the Detroit Lions in the following season. In November 2022, the XFL’s Arlington Renegades drafted the athlete. He later signed with the USFL’s Houston Gamblers, who traded him to the Birmingham Stallions ahead of the upcoming season.
