Ethiopia: Football Rescued Me From Genocide - Now I Promote Peace With It

[Africa Renewal] In 1994, at the onset of the genocide against the Tutsi, Eric Murangwa Eugene, then at the peak of his football career, found his teammates rallying to shield him from the militia as they hunted down 'enemies' house by house. In an interview with Africa Renewal's Zipporah Musau, he shares his survival journey and discusses his foundation's efforts to sensitize people about the impacts of the genocide.
