Classical Conductor Dean Dixon born.

Classical Conductor Dean Dixon is born in 1915 in Harlem, NY. Fluent in Swedish, French and German, Dixon became one of Europe's best known conductor's after leaving the US in 1949. He conducted the Goteborg (Sweden) Symphony for 10 years before being named conductor for the Hessian Radio Symphony in Frankfurt, Germany. So great was Dixon's ability, he led the New York Chamber Orchestra at age 25 while still a student at Julliard School of Music in New York. Dixon died in 1976.
