BREONNA TAYLOR WOULD HAVE TURNED 27 TODAY

Breonna Taylor, the woman who was shot and killed in her home by Louisville Metro Police on March 13th during a botched late-night raid, would have been 27-years-old today.

Her family and friends are mourning her death while protestors across the nation continue to march in an effort to bring an end to police violence against African Americans.

Taylor was a first responder, and grew up in Louisville.

According to her family’s attorney, she and her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker were at home in her apartment when a team of plainclothes Louisville police officers arrived to execute a no-knock warrant, which does not require them to announce their presence or purpose before entering.

None of the officers have been charged, however, the family of Breonna Taylor has filed a wrongful death lawsuit, and a celebration of Taylor’s life is planned for Saturday in downtown Louisville.
