The Department of Africana Studies at Oberlin College invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in the College of Arts and Sciences in Modern and Contemporary 20th century African American History. Areas of focus may include but are not limited to the following: Black Freedom Movements; Comparative Black Diasporas; Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies; Legacies of Atlantic Enslavement; Policing and Carceral State; and Environmental Justice. Initial appointment to this position will be for a term of four years beginning Fall semester 2024, and will carry the rank of Assistant Professor.
