[The Conversation Africa] Developing countries in general, and African countries in particular, confront an enormous financing challenge to meet the UN's sustainable development goals. This financing gap featured prominently at the 2021 United Nations climate change conference (COP26) and has been intensified by the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
