Black horror films have centered our communities and imaginations for years, making us feel seen and inspired. For years, strong Black lead actors and actresses have played roles in fantasy and science fiction stories . And despite the attempt made by the industry to box us in as actors and as people, horror films continue to be a platform through which Black expression shines while pushing the limits.
