By: Alyssa Wilson Amber Guyger, the former Dallas police officer convicted of murdering Botham Jean, lost her appeal Thursday, asking for her conviction to be tossed out or changed to a lesser charge. Guyger is currently serving a 10-year sentence for murdering Jean in the apartment complex where they both lived. Guyger lived one floor directly above Jean and alleged she mistook him for an intruder when she entered his apartment, fatally shooting him three years ago.
