Luanda — Angola has detected two more positive cases of covid-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 60.

The information was released Thursday evening in Luanda by the secretary of state for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, who also said one more patient has recovered, thus reaching 18.

According to the official, the positive cases are one Guinea Conakry male national and an Angolan woman, while the recovered patient is the Cuban doctor who tested positive on arrival from her country.

Speaking at the daily covid-19 update briefing, Franco Mufinda explained that the recovered patient is part of a group of Cuban physicians who came to Angola to help the country in the fight against the pandemic.

With the new elements, Angola reaches 60 positive cases, 39 active patients in stable condition, 18 recoveries, remaining with its three deaths.
